The Circle of Life

We noticed our little fishy ecosystem was changing. But, it took a while before we figured out what was causing such a disturbance in the tank. One day, while cleaning, Allen noticed this....

These fish are so aggressive! They have attacked all of our other fish. When the kids peer into the tank to observe, they charge them! You'll see them standing guard in the videos. Our bottom dwellers had been swimming non-stop at the top of the tank because of mom and dad. All of our fish were huddling in a top corner to avoid being tackled. So, in an effort to preserve our flock, we ended up with this:

And this morning, our sharks were dead, the angel fish died, the red-tailed shark is dying and the catfish is on his way out (the sucker fish died weeks ago and our big Tiger striped fish committed suicide about a week ago). Lexi noticed the catfish was really sick and recommended a dose of Tylenol to make him feel better.

However, the little family is doing fine and the babies are growing, as you'll see here:

We are obviously upset about the loss of so many of our fish. Once these guys get that family grown, they are going to be gone!
