Lexi {
shivering}: Mom, I'm freezing! I'm shivering!
Me {
turning on heater in car}: You are? Do you know why you shiver?
Lexi {
intrigued}: No, why?
Me {
teaching voice}: Well, shivers are really little muscle contractions. When each muscle moves, it creates a little heat. So, you shiver, it creates heat, and you get a little warmer. Shivers actually make you warm.
Lexi {
contemplative pause}
Lexi {
enthusiastically, after having a scientific breakthrough}: Well, I'm gonna get super hot because I have really big muscles!!!!!
