Elephant Butte

This past weekend we had a ward priest/laurel activity at Elephant Butte. One of our ward members has a really nice ski boat and he was willing to take it down so we could enjoy a day on the water. We left super early and stayed pretty late. We had a little bbq by the shore and the land-locked leaders spent a lot of time reading under the canopy.

The activity turned out a little different that us girls expected, but we did have a fun time. The kids got to learn how to wakeboard and kneeboard. They also got to ride around on the 3-man innertubey thing - until they hit a huge wake and got so high in the air that their landing popped the bottom!

This is an old hospital that will become submerged when the water level rises.

This is Elephant Butte. The "trunk" is on the right side.
